Vastu for Bathrooms and Toilets

Washrooms are essential for modern Living. Modern architecture incorporates toilets within the house. Though as per traditional Vastu Toilet is not a part of main buildings. It was constructed outside the main compound. However we must consider following points for constructing bathrooms and toilets in the house.

  • Ideal place for making a bathroom is Eastern part of the house. But if it’s also got a WC (toilet) then other directions are suggested.
  • Bathroom with Toilet can be constructed in North of Northwest, West of Northwest, West of Southwest, South of Southwest. Under no circumstances Toilet can be in Northeast direction as this is the direction of Shiv, and a toilet here hinders overall progress.
  • Mirror should always be placed  in Northern or eastern wall of the bathroom
  • Water heater and Geysers should be placed in Southeast direction of the bathroom. Water heater should not be placed just above the Toilet Seat.
  • Washbasin should be installed in Northern or eastern wall. This also ensures ideal placement of the mirrors.
  • Windows and Vents can be placed on north or eastern side.
  • Bathtub can be placed in West direction.
  • Southwest is the ideal location for putting Big Cupboards  and Almirahs. This direction should be of highest slope.
  • The Slope of the bathroom should be towards the northeast, so the water drains from South to North and West to East.
  • Bathroom must not be adjacent to Pooja Room or Kitchen. It encircles the negative energy and hinders prosperity in the house.
  • Washing machines can be placed in Southeast or Northwest direction of the bathroom.
  • Toilets WC should be placed in such a way so that the person using these always face towards north or south. Lid of WC must be kept close when not in use.
