Vastu for South Facing Home

Most of us must have been advised against about buying a South facing home by someone who knows a little about Vastu Shastra. However the Truth is Vastu Shastra doesn’t recommend any direction over the other. As per Vastu Shastra all directions are good and auspicious as long as Vatu principles are applied. Here are the tips for a South facing plot or home.

  1. Main Entrance must be as per Vastu Shastra. Under no circumstances it should be towards Southwest corner of the house. If we divide the length of the south direction in 9 equal parts(padas) , 3rd and 4th part(pada) from Southeast corner are considered best for entrance. Check Vastu Tips for Main entrance door.
  2. Avoid having a plot or flat having extension in the South or Southwest directions.
  3. Slope of the plot should be from Southwest to Northeast. One must also make the walls on South and west directions higher and stronger than the North and East.
  4. Master bedroom should be located in Southwest direction of the plot. If it’s a multi-storey dwelling, then Upper floor should be considered for Master bedroom.
  5. Kitchen should be placed on Southeast corner or Northwest corner only. These are the most auspicious directions for the Kitchen. Vastu Tips for Kitchen can help you here.
  6. There should not be open space in the Southwest corner. There should not be any garden, septic tanks or underground Water tanks or boring in this direction.
  7. Avoid keeping more open space towards South and West than North and East. Instead Keep North and East more open, light and airy.
  8. Staircase can be made in South or West of the house. Avoid making a staircase in Northern or Eastern side of the plot.

South is considered a good direction for Money and wealth. A Vastu complaint south facing house is great for material gains.
